Hip Hop Dance Junkies is a New York-based dance company established in 2010 by Brandon Chow. HHDJ has continued to grow over the years with about over 2,000 students! Our formula for success has always been - "teacher first, dancer second". HHDJ's started with the "1.0 STANDARD" classes which was created for the absolute beginner with no dance experience whatsoever or simply to get a great workout while having fun. In the "1.0 STANDARD" classes, we break down the ABC's of hip hop dancing so you not only learn how to dance, but also FEEL like a hip hop dancer. We offer basic warm-ups, some trick steps, reggae steps, and a progressive program in which you will be taught new original choreography to a hot song as we build on it over a 5-week period. So, for those of you who ever wanted to learn how to dance hip hop but felt hesitant due to shyness or lack of confidence, this is the class for you! Leave your inhibitions at home and bring your two left feet!! Meet the Business Owner Brandon C. Born and raised in New York City, Brandon developed a passion for dance at a young age after he was recruited to dance for the National Dance Institute under the direction of Jacques D'Amboise. Later, under the tutelage of Mia Michaels (So You Think You Can Dance) and several other renowned instructors at Broadway Dance Center. Thereafter, he attended and graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School along with fellow alumni Alicia Keys, Claire Danes, and Sara Rue. As he developed an additional passion and talent for rapping, the culture of hip hop consumed him. While attending Penn State University, he choreographed and performed for the "Midnight Madness" event kicking off the college basketball season. In 2010, he created "Hip Hop Dance Junkies". A hip hop school created for the absolute beginner with no dance experience whatsoever or to get a great workout while having fun!
