Rooted in the Union Square area, in the heart of New York City, Peridance Center is housed in a beautiful landmark building, featuring six spacious, sprung and column-free studios and an in-house state-of-the-art facility, and the KnJ Theater - available for rentals, showcases and performances. Peridance's Open Class Program offers a wide spectrum of over 250 "drop-in" dance classes and workshops in various techniques and styles on a daily basis, catering to adult students, on all levels, and from all over the world. Peridance prepares dancers for the continually evolving national and international dance arena through an array of educational training programs, led by an exceptional, world-renowned faculty, including the two-year Certificate Program and the Dance Studies Program. These programs admit domestic and international students. Meet the Business Owner Igal P. Renowned choreographer, ballet master, and dance educator, Igal Perry is the founder and Artistic Director of Peridance Center and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. Mr. Perry's choreography, often in collaboration with contemporary composers has been described as having "shrewdly theatrical timing" (Deborah Jowitt, The Village Voice), and being "blessedly inventive" (Jennifer Dunning, The New York Times). Mr. Perry's Ballet class introduces a fresh and open approach to the study of traditional ballet vocabulary and eloquently fuses the different elements of ballet, stressing technical execution, coordination, musicality and phrasing. In addition to his ongoing classes in NY Mr. Perry has been teaching in Holland, Israel, Prague, Tokyo, Sweden, China, and Korea. He serves as guest master teacher at Jacob's Pillow Festival and The Juilliard School.
