Hester's Designs is a custom sewing, pattern making and design service specializing in custom made bespoke clothing, costumes including anime, Comic Con, Halloween, theater, performance art, dance wear, Burning Man, parties, mascots, fashion design, bridal wear, formal attire, high end alterations, tailoring, and interior decor for private and corporate clients. Tailored for each individual Hester can work with any and all garments for men, women and children. Expert at pattern making and can draft any pattern from a sketch, photo, or pre existing garment using clients measurements. Most of Hester's clients provide all fabrics and materials needed for the specific project. She will be happy to give a consultation for fabric choices, colors and design direction. As well as design services Hester's Designs also offers workshops and classes for private and small group lessons in pattern making, basic sewing and garment construction. History Hester's Designs has been in business for over 20 years serving San Francisco and Bay Area with clients as far away as Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Oregon and Washington. She studied fashion/costume design, pattern making/draping and couture sewing at FIDM and Louise Salinger Academy of Fashion in San Francisco, have held positions of Assistant Designer, Head Pattern Maker in local fashion industry, Fashion Instructor at FIDM and The Art Institute of CA - SF as well as designing for two local couture houses. Meet the Business Owner Hester Michael is a Fabric Artist specializing in Custom Sewing and Pattern Making living in San Francisco since 1987. Growing up in Los Angeles and Washington State Hester started sewing and making garments as early as 12 years old. Yup wanted to make and wear what she wanted to wear. Love going out dancing!
